fboffo_DKnauf: I've never read Underground Man, but I agree with what you just said. But I'd add the caveate that an individual's "free will" is not always contrary to his base nature. In other words, free will can be an illusion. My experience is that, in most cases, folks end up doing what they're compelled to do by their nature, whether they know it or not.
